Marko Ferlan

Marko Ferlan (SLO) started his musical education at age 8 with professor Tomislav Vrandečić at elementary Music school in Brežice (SLO), and continued his studies at Music Conservatory in Zagreb (CRO) with Prof. Ante Čagalj.In this period, he won several international competitions for classical guitar, such as Simone Salmaso Viareggio, Italy 2001, Andres Segovia in Velbert, Germany 2002, Citta di Gorizia, Italy 2005. His musical journey led him to Vienna where he finished his Master's Degree with honors at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst with Alexander Sweet and Gunter Schneider. While living in Vienna he started exploring and playing new instruments and musical genres. Marko Ferlan performs as a soloist as well as part of a duo Bauman Ferlan, Ensemble Illyrica, and multidisciplinary collective Synesthetic Project. He also participates in projects outside of classical music as a bassist in Özlem Bulut band, Oscar Antoli quartett, as a double-bass player he is a member of the band “the Hawaras”.
